Sombras del Agave regresa a Tulum con tres días de mezcal, cultura, gastronomía y tradición mexicana
La segunda edición del Festival del Mezcal reunirá a maestras y maestros mezcaleros de distintas regiones de México el 28 de mayo en la Explanada del Municipio de Tulum, el 29 de Mayo en Mamazul Aldea Zama y el 30 de Mayo Mamazul on the Beach @ Naay

Tulum se prepara para recibir la segunda edición de Sombras del Agave, un festival dedicado a celebrar la cultura del mezcal, los destilados artesanales mexicanos y las tradiciones que nacen alrededor del agave.
Organizado por Mamazul Tulum, el festival se llevará a cabo durante tres días, del 28 al 30 de mayo, con actividades en tres sedes: la Explanada del Municipio de Tulum el 28, Mamazul Tulum Aldea Zama el 29 y Naay / Mamazul on the Beach el 30, reuniendo a maestras y maestros mezcaleros provenientes de diferentes estados de la República Mexicana.
La entrada al festival será libre. Los seminarios serán gratuitos y tendrán cupo limitado, por lo que las personas interesadas en participar deberán registrarse previamente vía WhatsApp al 984 137 8324.
Además, las personas que se registren a los seminarios y asistan al festival participarán en una rifa diaria para ganar una cena en Mamazul Tulum con valor de $1,000 pesos. Se realizará una rifa por día durante los tres días del festival.
La organización de Sombras del Agave agradece profundamente el apoyo del Presidente Municipal de Tulum, Diego Castañón Trejo, así como de la Directora de Turismo, Haydé Hernández Pastrana y el Director de Recaudación Rafael Martín Del Campo por impulsar y acompañar iniciativas que fortalecen la cultura, el turismo, la gastronomía y la identidad de Tulum como destino.
Sombras del Agave busca posicionarse como el encuentro cultural más importantes del Caribe Mexicano alrededor del mezcal y los destilados de agave, acercando al público local y visitante al trabajo de productores, familias mezcaleras, maestras y maestros que preservan técnicas, historias y saberes ancestrales.
“Sombras del Agave nace como una celebración de México, de sus comunidades productoras y de la enorme riqueza cultural que existe detrás de cada destilado de agave. Queremos que Tulum viva una experiencia auténtica, educativa y festiva, conectando a locales, visitantes, productores y amantes del mezcal”, señaló la organización del festival.
Durante el encuentro participarán casas mezcaleras y productores de diferentes estados de México, incluyendo Oaxaca, Durango, Jalisco, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Puebla y Estado de México, entre otros. El programa incluirá seminarios de mezcal, degustaciones, experiencias de cacao, gastronomía mexicana, artesanos, música en vivo, danza folclórica, coctelería de autor y presentaciones culturales.

28 de mayo — Explanada Municipio Tulum
La jornada inaugural se realizará en la Explanada del Municipio de Tulum, sobre Avenida Tulum, en el centro de Tulum, con una tarde dedicada a la tradición, el mezcal y la cultura mexicana.
El programa incluirá ceremonia de apertura, seminarios de mezcal, gastronomía mexicana, artesanos, experiencia de cacao, danza folclórica, taller de papel de fibra de maguey y música tradicional mexicana en vivo.
Esta primera fecha busca abrir el festival al corazón de Tulum, creando un punto de encuentro accesible para residentes, visitantes, familias, amantes del mezcal y personas interesadas en conocer más sobre la cultura del agave.
29 de mayo — Mamazul Aldea Zama
El segundo día tendrá lugar en Mamazul Tulum, Aldea Zama, ubicado en Andador Kambull, Manzana 12, Lote 32, Colonia Aldea Zama, Tulum.
Será una experiencia más íntima dentro del restaurante, con seminarios de mezcal, encuentros con productores, degustaciones, coctelería de autor, guest bartender, gastronomía mexicana, experiencia de cacao, música en vivo con Caribe Cumbian Session y show de fuego.
Esta jornada estará enfocada en el aprendizaje, la degustación y el diálogo directo con los productores, permitiendo a los asistentes descubrir regiones, técnicas, aromas, sabores e historias detrás de cada destilado.
30 de mayo — Naay / Mamazul on the Beach
El cierre del festival se celebrará frente al mar, en Naay / Mamazul on the Beach, ubicado en Carretera Boca Paila Km 7.5, zona hotelera de Tulum.
Será una jornada vibrante con mezcal, música, comida regional mexicana, seminarios, guest bartender, coctelería de autor, artesanos, experiencia de cacao y música en vivo con salsa para despedir el festival junto al Caribe.
El cierre busca unir la tradición del mezcal con la energía única de Tulum: cultura mexicana, mar, música y hospitalidad en una experiencia abierta al público.
Un festival para aprender, degustar y vivir la cultura del agave
Sombras del Agave no es solamente un evento de degustación. Es una plataforma cultural que busca acercar al público al proceso artesanal del mezcal, al trabajo de las comunidades productoras y a la diversidad de expresiones que existen alrededor del agave en México.
Los seminarios gratuitos permitirán a los asistentes conocer de primera mano las historias, métodos, regiones y tradiciones detrás de destilados excepcionales. Los seminarios tendrán cupo limitado, por lo que se recomienda registrarse con anticipación vía WhatsApp al 984 137 8324.

The second edition of the Mezcal Festival will bring together maestras and maestros mezcaleros from different regions of Mexico on May 28 at the Tulum Municipal Esplanade, May 29 at Mamazul Aldea Zama, and May 30 at Mamazul on the Beach @ Naay.

Tulum is preparing to welcome the second edition of Sombras del Agave, a festival dedicated to celebrating the culture of mezcal, artisanal Mexican spirits, and the traditions born around the agave plant.
Organized by Mamazul Tulum, the festival will take place over three days, from May 28 to May 30, with activities across three venues: the Tulum Municipal Esplanade on May 28, Mamazul Tulum Aldea Zama on May 29, and Naay / Mamazul on the Beach on May 30, bringing together maestras and maestros mezcaleros from different states of the Mexican Republic.
Admission to the festival will be free. The seminars will also be free and will have limited capacity, so anyone interested in participating must register in advance via WhatsApp at 984 137 8324.
In addition, people who register for the seminars and attend the festival will participate in a daily raffle to win a dinner at Mamazul Tulum valued at $1,000 pesos. One raffle will be held each day throughout the three-day festival.

Sombras del Agave seeks to position itself as the most important cultural gathering in the Mexican Caribbean dedicated to mezcal and agave spirits, bringing locals and visitors closer to the work of producers, mezcal-making families, maestras, and maestros who preserve ancestral techniques, stories, and knowledge.
“Sombras del Agave was born as a celebration of Mexico, its producing communities, and the extraordinary cultural richness behind every agave spirit. We want Tulum to experience an authentic, educational, and festive event, connecting locals, visitors, producers, and mezcal lovers,” said the festival organization.
The event will feature mezcal houses and producers from different Mexican states, including Oaxaca, Durango, Jalisco, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Puebla, and the State of Mexico, among others. The program will include mezcal seminars, tastings, cacao experiences, Mexican gastronomy, artisans, live music, folkloric dance, signature cocktails, and cultural presentations.
Festival Program
May 28 — Tulum Municipal Esplanade
The opening day will take place at the Tulum Municipal Esplanade, on Avenida Tulum, in downtown Tulum, with an afternoon dedicated to tradition, mezcal, and Mexican culture.
The program will include an opening ceremony, mezcal seminars, Mexican gastronomy, artisans, a cacao experience, folkloric dance, a maguey-fiber paper workshop, and live traditional Mexican music.
This first day aims to bring the festival to the heart of Tulum, creating an accessible meeting point for residents, visitors, families, mezcal lovers, and anyone interested in learning more about agave culture.
May 29 — Mamazul Aldea Zama
The second day will take place at Mamazul Tulum, Aldea Zama, located at Andador Kambull, Manzana 12, Lote 32, Colonia Aldea Zama, Tulum.
It will offer a more intimate experience inside the restaurant, with mezcal seminars, encounters with producers, tastings, signature cocktails, guest bartenders, Mexican gastronomy, a cacao experience, live music by Caribe Cumbian Session, and a fire show.
This day will focus on learning, tasting, and direct dialogue with producers, allowing attendees to discover the regions, techniques, aromas, flavors, and stories behind each agave spirit.
May 30 — Naay / Mamazul on the Beach
The festival closing will take place by the sea, at Naay / Mamazul on the Beach, located at Carretera Boca Paila Km 7.5, in Tulum’s hotel zone.
It will be a vibrant day with mezcal, music, regional Mexican food, seminars, guest bartenders, signature cocktails, artisans, a cacao experience, and live salsa music to close the festival by the Caribbean Sea.
The closing day aims to unite the tradition of mezcal with the unique energy of Tulum: Mexican culture, the sea, music, and hospitality in an experience open to the public.
